Concert Commissions
I have been writing music for over 45 years, 29 of which were spent arranging and composing for my own high school marching and concert bands. During those years many of my original works and arrangements were published.
As a high school band director my concert band work was primarily for my own bands; however, in recent years, since I retired from teaching, my work in this area has garnered considerable demand, culminating in numerous commissioned works that have received critical acclaim and interest from publishers.
Most of my compositions have been published by Arrangers Publishing Company and many have been selected for festival music lists in a number of states. Publication of commissioned works, although probable, cannot be guaranteed due to the variables of the music publishing business.
My basic concert commission rate schedule is as follows:
- Original Level II work (3-4 minutes duration) $1500.00 – 2500.00
- Original Level III/IV work (4-5 minutes duration) $2500.00 – 3500.00
- Original Level V/VI work (5-10 minutes duration) $3500.00 – 5000.00
The above figures include one full score and one each of all parts.
